The roots of WEA date back to the year 1991 when Wilhelm Wilberts, today’s executive officer, started to plan the first wind farm. After successful realisation of several projects, especially in the East Frisian area and increasing demand, WEA Windenergie-Agentur GmbH with registered seat in North Germany was founded in 1996.
Business Field
The business field of WEA Windenergie-Agentur GmbH include the planning, development and management of wind farm projects. Seven sites in the area of East Frisia and Emsland belong to the portfolio of the company which has taken over the management of another location.
Associated Companies
The planning and developement of large wind farms are complex and labour-intensive. In order to handle multiple tasks, WEA Windenergie-Agentur GmbH entered into a cooperation with AgRoEnergie GmbH & Co. KG with registered seat in the city of Twist in 1997. A success story emerged with the conclusion of the joint venture contract for planning and developing wind power projects. This colaboration led to the foundation of the joint venture AgRo & WEA Projekt GmbH & Co. KG.
The first step to France was done in 2003 with foundation of the affiliated company REE S.A.R.L Régie d´Energie Eolienne in Péré on the southern Atlantic Coast of France. Presently, the subsidiary possesses three implemented sites with an effective outlet of 16 MW. Further projects with the dimension of 80 MW rated power are planned.
Since 2005 we are holding interests with the Norwegian wind power company Windkraftagentur Solvind Prosjekt AS with registered seat on the west coast of Norway.
